Hello crafty friends. It's Anna here with my first project created using pretty "My bright life" collection by Pebbles. If you follow me somewhere on social media, you probably noticed that I am a fan of vivid colors and colorful projects. This collection is everything I love - bright, vivid, with flowers and cacti. There is even paper with llamas. I will be sharing projects created with this line through the September. Let's start with layout.
I love to add some light mixed media effects to my projects and they look best on white backgrounds. This is how I started making this page. I took 12*12 watercolor paper sheet because I was going to add a lot of water and this kind of paper works best this way.
Do you know new range by Tim Holtz called Distress Oxides? This is a whole new world of fantastic opportunities behind them. They are inks like none other. You can stamp with them. They have this chalky finish but when you add water to them, magic happens. They start to oxide and change color. I like playing with them and when I got new color - "Faded jeans" - I had to try it out.
When my background was dry, I started creating a composition of handmade paper flowers and ephemera pieces. I used a picture from first day of school of my older daughter. I notices that there are few elements in the sticker sheet and ephemera pack, that can match school theme, like backpack, books and notebook.
Adding flowers to the girly layouts is always a good idea. They are a perfect match. New Thickers from "Willow lane" collection are perfect for adding titles to the pages.
If you are curious how this page was done. I have a process video for you. You can follow my whole creative process there.
