Hello everyone! It's Zinia here and today I'm working with the beautiful May card kit to create an anniversary card using a few different techniques.


The gorgeous Altenew stamp set that included in the kit this month is perfect for so many different techniques. Unfortunately I can't show you everything in one card so I decided to go with one of my favorite techniques, which is watercolor stamping.


Inking up the solid image from the stamp set with different colors of Distress Oxides (I used Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick, Shaded Lilac, Picked Raspberry and Tattered Rose) and spraying some water on the stamp before putting it down to my card base.


I'm letting the image dry and then I'm going back with more layers of color until I'm happy with the result.


When my watercolor image is dry, I'm going back to stamp the outline with some Altenew Crisp Dye ink in permanent black.


To fill the bottom of my card I'm using the Neat & Tangled stencil that was also included in our May card kit. I'm using some of the same Distress Oxide colors to create a gradient effect.


I stamped a sentiment on a thin strip of black cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I placed my sentiment strip between the flower and the ink blended area to make them look like two separate pieces.


Since my card already has a few different elements and techniques I didn't want to make it extra busy. So to embellish it I only used a few subtle bits.


As a final touch, I used the Nuvo glimmer paste to create my own enamel dots. The paste is pretty thick so it's very easy to do that and you don't need any fancy tools. I created my dots by applying the paste with the back of a small paintbrush.


And that finishes off our card for today. This card combines a couple of different techniques that work together beautifully but you can also simplify and skip some steps if you want a more minimal result.
