it's Lisa on the blog today and I'm sharing this valentine's day gift idea with you. Yes, it looks like a mini album, but to me it's more like a book of love with 10 reasons why I love my boyfriend. Yes, that's cheesy...Haha... :)
I made this using nothing but the Dear Lizzy STAR GAZER collection. And I didn't use any other tools than my paper trimmer and my scissors. No cutting machine whatsoever, so everyone can do this.
To start, I cut 12x6 inches of paper from the 12x12 PAPER PAD. I folded them in the middle. Then I stuck 2 pages together, always using the back of the first sheet and the back of the second sheet. Then I stitched around the edges. I did this, until I had all the pages stuck together.
Then I started decorating the pages. I used the EPHEMERA, 12x12 PAPER PAD, CARDSTOCK STICKERS and the CHIPBOARD STICKERS. I also did some paper piecing with the papers from the pad.
I chose one or two pieces on each page that I wanted to hand-stitch to make them stand out more.
I also did a bit of mixed media on the pages and matted my pictures on some pieces of paper.

For the back of the book, I cut a 3x6 inch strip and stuck it to the back, hiding the part where all the pages came together. I also added a little piece of ribbon, so that I could hang an embellishment on it.
To finish it, I added a cover and a back by using two 6x6 sheets of paper. I embellished with thickers and I was done.
